An apartment renovation in Park Slope for a recently relocated graphic designer couple from California employed minimal detailing as a foil to the existing pre war apartment interior. Consistent use of carrera marble became a thread to link new work in the apartment. Installation of a new opening connecting the living and dining areas provided an apparent enlargement to the existing layout. Analysis of proportion and investigation of multiple options throughout the design process insured an attention to detail that reflected the client’s interest in refined design.
